Review: Immanuel's Veins by Ted Dekker

I've heard so much of Ted Dekker, and this book really did him justice, it was an awesome read. Even though the book is big, it's a fascinating fast read. I'm  not really a fan of historical fiction, but  Dekker writes amazingly, especially of Europe. The romance was passionate, strong, beautiful, one of the things that I really loved it.

The story takes place in Russia, 1722 and it's pretty well written, plus we got vampires in the mix, which I really enjoy it, i love vampire stories. The characters are fantastic, each one brings something different to the story.

I've read other reviews, some saying that the switch from first to third person narrative was unexpected and confusing, but, yeah, it was confusing at first, but then you get used to it, it was not something that i would put on a negative perspective. It was weird, but it was quite alright. I loved this book, it's a fantastic and different read.

Review: The Falling Away by T.L. Hines

This was my first T.L. Hines book , I've heard a lot about him and decided to give it a shot. The Falling Away was a very difficult read and difficult to follow the plot, even though I decided to get into T.L. Hines with this work, I until think he's a incredible writer. This book was very odd indeed, but it has an unique plot and it's different from every Christian book I've read. Sometimes it gets really confusing, and it was hard to getting into it because this book was not really my taste, but overall is a good book.

I liked Dylan and the way he was trying to overcome his inner and outer demons. Not really a fan of Quinn, a homeless lady who deals with self-mutilations. There is a lot of mystery, and most of the time I didn't know what really was going on, but it was intriguing. I think Christians would like this, those who enjoy fiction and supernatural thrillers.

I thought the storyline was original, the suspense works well and the characters are interesting. I've heard that this was not the best work of T.L. Hines, so I'll continue to follow his work, even though I had a lot of struggles with this one.

Review: Angel Song by Sheila Walsh and Kathryn Cushman ♥

I liked this book! Maybe some parts were too predictable, but I really enjoyed it. The beginning was amazing, but in the end was more so so. I love books that revive the Christian faith, that’s really different for me, that’s why I read Christian books every once in a while. Ann’s thoughts and the whole story were well written and that is what counts. Angel Song is awesome for those that like romance, well describing of scenes and scenarios, faith…I highly recommend this book. I like it and I think other people will too. Is an exciting story, got a lot of mysteries and the characters are amazing and well written.

Other thing that caught my attention besides the book description, was the cover and book title. For a book to be good, in my opinion, the cover and the title have to be good, or great. Angel song’s cover is gorgeous and really describes the vibe of the book, just like the title. The clouds are amazing, and the girl standing there in the wind is phenomenal. I think the others Sheila Walsh and Kathryn Cushman did a wonderful job with the story and the publisher an awesome job with the cover and the whole publication. Congrats to everyone!
